August

MORNING HAS BROKEN

August 2012, the birds will soon be packing
their bags for their journey...........getting ready
for the flight.

This is a wax painting, I did not
purposely sit down to paint the blue bird.
He showed up in the wax, so I outlined his
body and let him stay.

9/22/2012--Our choir is learning the following song, and I realized while singing it  that it fits my bird that showed up in my painting.  It's written by Eleanor Farjeon.

Miss Geraldine this song is for you.

Morning has broken, like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird
Praise for the singing, praise for the morning
Praise for the springing fresh from the word.

Sweet the rain's new fall, sunlit from heaven
Like the first dewfall, on the first grass
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden
Sprung in completeness where his feet pass.

Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning,
Born of the one light, Eden saw play
Praise with elation, praise every morning
God's recreation of the new day.
