This is a painting, one of a series that I am working on, of the women from the play by Ntozake Shange, "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow was E'nuf.
Brenda, you are an inspiration to me! I truly love your artwork. This piece brings me back to the time I saw the play in New York on Broadway! I was only 13 years old, but it struck me with such intensity that the characters, who would eventually become the women I met along my journey, let me know that we were all different, yet the same.
