Oasis

This is one of those surprise paintings,  I painted with an iron.  I did not make that little house on the right on purpose.......it just appeared in the wax, the why I love the wax.....I get a thrill when this happens.

For those that asked this is for sale on
Fine Art America, type in my name.  Thank you.

Maya Angelou

I don't know what to say, the feeling is heavy.  ...I love Maya Angelou's spirit, her joy, her love.  I will have to read them all again,  I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, A Song Flung up to Heaven, I should go on and re-read all of her books.  She said she "Wouldn't Take Nothing for her Journey Now."

Speaking of her mother in this  book, "...She would look up as if she could will herself into the heavens, and tell her family in particular and the world in general, "I will step out on the word of God.  I will step out on the word of God."  Immediately I could see her flung into space, moons at her feet and stars at her head, comets swirling around her."------  Now that sounds like a great painting......

---There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you---Maya Angelou

She loved and was loved.  Thank you.

A New Day is Dawning............

Back to encaustic again.  I love this wax!
A new day is dawning, like the first morning.

It seems that whenever we sing the Hymn  "Morning Has Broken Like the First Morning,"  I have to go home and create a piece of art that shows how the song made me feel. This song was sung the Sunday after Easter, it was beautiful.  Last year's painting was about the black bird the first bird of the morning.
